State of New Jersey. January 9, 1781 Act. Six Pence. No.7112. Signed by R.[obert] Neil and B.[enjamin]...State of New Jersey. January 9, 1781 Act. Six Pence. No.7112. Signed by R.[obert] Neil and B.[enjamin] Smith. Printed on rigid stock, watermarked 'NEW JERSEY'. Slightly different size format than prior acts. Standard design style, State seal lower left. Nature leaf back pointed opposite to prior issues. Trenton printed by Isaac Collins. The issue is plagued with poor trimming on a several of the denominations. From our observations, this lowest denomination note is quite scarce compared to some of the higher denominations on the Act and the only example in the Ford-Boyd Collection. Extremely Fine. However, poorly cut and significantly so along the top and left. Vertical bend and heavy handling on the upper corners. Well printed and sharp. Two back mounting hinges.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
