Colony of New Hampshire. July 3, 1776. Six Dollars. No.2212. Payable on January 26, 1790. Signed by Smith and White. Printed thinner coarse stock, similar to the 1784 due date notes on the January 26, 1776 Act. 73mm by 84mm. Standard face and back designs with imprint of Fowle. Within the ornaments, the motto 'FOR DEFENCE OF AMERICAN LIBERTY' at the right. Concealed within upper ornaments are the names 'Meshech Weare'' and 'Levi Dearborn'.
Like all notes from this act, also extremely rare and desirable. This denomination represented in the Ford X Sale in May, 2005 with a different due date. This is an excellent opportunity to have several chances to obtain a note from this issue from the Ford-Boyd Collection. When this short window of opportunity passes, it might be many years before a note from this issue is offered publicly.
Very Fine Plus. Creased lightly and handling. Brighter than usual for the series. There is a quarter inch diameter ink speck on the right face of the text and showing through the back into the bottom center ornament line. Some minor edge wear, but ignoring the ink spot, a very appealing note.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
