Colony of New Hampshire. June 28, 1776. Five Pence. No.2580. Payable on January 26, 1787. Signed by...Colony of New Hampshire. June 28, 1776. Five Pence. No.2580. Payable on January 26, 1787. Signed by Long [?]. Printed on thick, coarse stock. 70mm by 46mm. Uniface, typeset with standard texts within ornamental borders with due date in the obligation. A lower denomination on the series and one of 6,000 printed and issued. This denomination represented in the Ford X Sale, but with the 1788 due date (lot 5757). Fine to Very Fine or so. Intact, heavy crease and dark aging. Scattered pinholes and a little rough on the wide edges. Boyd notation pencil code ''miyx'' (this was $32.00! long ago).

These change bills were considered great rarities in Boyd's collecting time based on this cost code. Several of his Sword in Hand notes on Massachusetts were a fraction of this price.
