Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. December 7, 1775. Ten Shillings. No.2387. Signed by Wheeler and Plympton. Revere Sword in Hand Note. Printed on moderately thick stock, thinner than previous issues. 76mm by 98mm. Standard face and back designs, similar to the August 18, 1775 issue. This denomination note not represented in the Ford X in Sale in May, 2005. An attractive note, mainly free of serious detriments. About Very Fine. The crease is slightly diagonal across the center, with an adjacent fold.
The note is toned, slightly deeper on the edges. Moderate soiling on both sides, but only a slight split at the right end. The corners are fairly sharp, one with a light crease, and a little roughness at the left end. A genuine Sword from this second issue date of Revere engraved ''Sword in Hand'' notes. Quite pleasing to the eye with modest, natural usage. A perfect fit for a type set of historic Colonial American currency notes.
