Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. August 18, 1775. Twenty Shillings. No.5614. Payable on August 18, 1780. Signed by Sayer and Wheeler[?, faint]. Revere Sword in Hand Note. Printed on thick, coarse stock. 75mm by 100mm. Standard face and back designs. A second Twenty Shillings denomination, represented in the epic Ford X Sale offering in May, 2006, but with a different payable date from above. Very Fine or better. Two creases across the center, a quarter of an inch apart, that are not broken. Modest surface soiling. A strong note and high grade for the series and type. Uniform toning and evenly margined. The paper still exhibits much of its original character and is clearly a premium note.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
