MARYLAND COLONIAL CURRENCY, EARLY SERIES NOTES FROM THE CLARKE COLLECTION. January 1, 1767. One Sixth of a Dollar or Nine Pence Sterling. No.0163. Signed by R.[obert] Couden and J.[ohn] Clapham. Printed on sturdy stock. Elaborate border cuts by Sparrow, Colonial Maryland Arms sideways at right. Nature print back. Imprint 'Printed by JONAS GREEN' on back. Very Fine. Folds and some back soiling. Still, very crisp; March 1, 1770. Two Thirds of a Dollar or Three Shillings Sterling. No.1520. Signed by Clapham and Eddis. Size, paper, and style as last.

Very Fine Plus. A strong face with excellent margins. Some back soiling only; April 10, 1774. Six Dollars or Twenty Seven Shillings Sterling. No.14090. Signers as last. Very Fine Plus. Also, quite pleasing. Minor back soiling. Well matched notes from the Clarke Collection. 3 pieces.
