Georgia. June 8, 1777. Eight Dollars in Continental Currency. No.109. Blue seal. Thirteen Links. C CONGRESS. The ''in'' of the text in red. Signed by Wood, Langworthy, Wylly, Wade and O'Bryen. Printed on laid paper. A popular seal type note, the chain adapted from Benjamin Franklin's Fugio back design for the Continental Currency. An excellent example from the T. James Clarke acquisition notes. Very Fine to Extremely Fine. A few vertical folds, but no hard creases and handling. Strong paper crispness and fairly bright. The seal is a bit over inked and blurred due to this. There are two stray streaks of brown serial ink near the top. Complete margins on 90% of the note. Clarke's pencil code on the back. A very useful type note and a Colonial paper currency classic.
Ex T. James Clarke Collection.
