Georgia. 1777. Thirteen Spanish Milled Dollars. No.684. Blue-Green seal. Liberty Cap. LIBERTAS CARIOR...Georgia. 1777. Thirteen Spanish Milled Dollars. No.684. Blue-Green seal. Liberty Cap. LIBERTAS CARIOR AURO. Border variety (h). Signed by Andrew, Saltus, Stone, O'Bryen and Ewen. Printed on laid paper. A popular seal type used on a few of the 1776-1777 Georgia issues. Very Fine. Strong paper, but with a shaved upper left corner. The vertical crease is heavy with short splits top and bottom. The good news is the seal is very sharply struck, bold and vivid, with excellent details. As such, the corner can be discounted as a minor flaw. Raymond pencil code back upper right corner. The overall beauty is quite attractive and the superior grade notes in Ford X in 2005 brought strong realizations against their prior catalogue value and auction trends.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Wayte Raymond.
