Georgia. 1777. Seven Spanish Milled Dollars. Unnumbered. Blue-Green seal. Hand. ULTIMA RADIO. Border variety (i). Signed by Saltus, Andrew, Stone, Wade and O'Bryen. Printed on translucent, sturdier paper with different texture than used on most other 1777 seal notes we have observed. A second Hand seal type note with different border variety and unusual anomalies for the series. The seal is ''muddy'' due to being double struck. This is quite unusual and one of few we have seen in so dramatic a fashion. Besides the different paper, the note is clearly not numbered. However, the blurry seal has impaired the eye appeal slightly. Choice Extremely Fine or better. A light vertical fold and a light corner fold. Very crisp paper with moderate, uniform toning. A small cluster of bottom center pinholes. The blue seal color is attractive and the note has full margins except at the bottom left which is razor thin.
The note is intriguing indeed. Could this have been a signed sample of the different paper type?. We do not recall seeing a note without a number. Is it a coincidence that the seal is double struck as well? Many questions, few answers, but a fascinating note for the right specialist.
