Georgia. (1776). Five Spanish Milled Dollars. No.1306. Barrel Beehive. Border variety (c). Signed by Cochran, Wereat, Roberts, O'Bryen and Ewen. Printed on laid paper, visible Crown on Circle watermark at upper right. Pattern ornamental indent style border, different from last, at left, framed in ornaments on other three sides. Texts in black and orange. Beehive in a barrel, mounted on a plinth vignette lower right with 'FIVE' above and 'DOLLARS' below plinth lines, both in orange.
About Very Fine and Very Choice for the technical grade. A vertical crease and a few other folds. Fresh, vibrant colors and premium paper quality as espoused by the future analyst of numerical designation. The margins are trimmed with the top razor thin and the others slightly in. This may have been done to conceal some ancient splits. They are long gone and for all we know, never existed. There is a moderate ink spot on the right plinth line. Raymond pencil code upper right back corner. Another lovely example.
