Georgia. (1776). Four Spanish Milled Dollars. No.360. Frontiersman. Border variety (b). Signed by Jackson, Bryan, Burkloe, O'Bryen and Ewen. Printed on laid paper. Pattern ornamental indent style border, different from last, at left, framed in ornaments on other three sides. Texts in black and orange. Frontiersman (looks like the Brunswick ''wildman'' with a rifle!) vignette lower right with 'FOUR' above and 'DOLLARS' below, both in orange.
Another quintessential type on this issue date and series. Very distinctive and popular. The majority seen are generally in some sort of disrepair due to folding and chinks caused by the larger size of note. From the face, an Apparent Extremely Fine or Nearly So, with the caveat that the note is backed to a card stock. The paper is uniformly toned and the ink from the face appears to be slightly acidic (diagnostic to this issue), but not burned through to the back. From the face, the note appears virtually immaculate.
