Colony of Connecticut. June 1, 1775. Ten Shillings. No.6391. Signed by Payne, Seymour, and Wyllys. Printed on thick laid paper. Standard size, designs and imprint as prior series. Lowest print figure in Newman of 7,000 notes and given a premium value. About Extremely Fine. Toned, short side split. Penned ''13/4'' on bottom back; Twenty Shillings. No.1799. Signed by Pitkin, Hamlin, and Root. Crisp Uncirculated and some would call Choice. Uncreased, but with minor corner rubs and light toning. A lovely and uncancelled note; Forty Shillings. No.7508. Signed by Root, Hamlin, and Pitkin. Extremely Fine. Lightly creased and moderately toned. Another excellent trio of uncancelled notes, not often seen. 3 pieces.
The higher denominations are seen in higher grades as the issue dates evolved. These notes tended to be saved with more frequency than lower denominations (except for hoard notes).
