NEW HAMPSHIRE. Selection of Civil War Era Scrip Notes, Mostly Unissued. Several scarcer notes and very colorful: Geo. S. Harvey, per the Piscataqua Bank. 50¢. Portsmouth. Oct. 28, 1862. All green, ornate frame. The back is mimic of First Issue 50¢ Fractional. POC; W.E. Headley & Co., per Rockingham House. 5¢. Portsmouth. Dec. 1, 1862. All blue. Ship. Signed and issued. Very Fine; Tredick, Swinerton & Gilmen Scrip. 5¢. Union. Dec. 15, 1862. Proof on thin paper, black and white portions, no tinting by Herald Office, Boston. Miner left. Extremely Fine. Handling fold;

Same Issuer. 5¢, 10¢, and 25¢. Styles as last, but tinted. Gold, blue and green respectively. The 25¢ note is larger with wagon at left. All Herald Office, Boston. All About Uncirculated or so; J.S. Greenwood. 10¢. Wilton. Dec. 20, 1862. Proof on thin paper without imprint. Maiden swims lefts. Small POC. Penciled, ''Maine'' in signature block. All Unissued, unless noted Extremely Fine or so. Several with back corner pencil prices (from Wayte Raymond?). 7 pieces.

Wilton is where the ''King of New Hampshire Scrip'' is from. That note is the Thirteen Cents Wilton note from the Schingoethe VII Sale that came from the Clarence Criswell Collection.
