State of Pennsylvania. June 1, 1780 Act. Two Dollars. No.? Signed by D.[aniel] Wister and ?; countersigned on the back by R.[ichard] Bache. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'CONFEDE/RATION'. Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. Without red interest payable stamping on face. Like the New York Guaranteed bills, this is a very rare series. There were 25,000 notes of each denomination authorized. A second denomination of the eight issued on this Act date. Always a key series of notes and a lovely type example, less than perfect, but attractive from the face. Very Fine. Hard vertical crease, light horizontal fold, and handling. Toned overall with tight margins at the right and left ends, and top right borderlines. The back right corners with green paper mounting remnants. A handsome rarity and excellent type note.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
