State of Maryland. June 28, 1780 Act. Eight Dollars. No.1291. Signed by P.[hilip] Walker and H.[enry] Dickinson; countersigned on the back by B.[enjamin] Harwood. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'UNITED/STATES'. Standard size, face and back designs, and Hall and Sellers imprint. A second example of this denomination that is nearly exceptional and from the face only: pulls it off! The note is superbly printed and deeply inked. Choice Crisp Uncirculated and many would call this Gem. Perfect paper quality, bold inking, deep embossing and broad face margins for the issue. The back is virtually impossible to land on the paper perfectly in any case and is razor close at the ends. For specialists who are familiar with the series type, this ranks among the finest.
