
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. March 16, 1785. Three Pence or 3/90ths of a Dollar. No.6276. Signed by S.[amuel] Caldwell. Printed on rigid stock, watermarked 'PENNSYL/VANIA'. Horizontal format, similar to 1777 wide format notes, approximately 105mm by 65mm. Elaborate border cuts on all sides, typeset text and conversions in the center. Commonwealth Seal slightly varying sizes depending on denomination. Seal at upper left, wider format with motto COMMERCE AND AGRICULTURE above. New, long vertical format nature and cloth print backs. Imprint 'PHILADELPHIA:/Printed by Francis Bailey'.
The Newman Plate Note, so illustrated on page 359 of the fourth edition. Well printed and deeply inked. Choice Crisp Uncirculated. Well margined on the face. Slightly off center to the left on the back. Back corner green paper mounting remnants.
