State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. Two Hundred Dollars. Ut quocunque paratus. No.2012. Signed...State of North Carolina. May 10, 1780 Act. Two Hundred Dollars. Ut quocunque paratus. No.2012. Signed by Green Jr. and Coore. Printed on laid paper, visible watermark at lower right corner. Typeset face with ornamental borders. Simple pattern back, similar to 1778 notes, with imprint 'Printed by JAMES DAVIS, 1780'. The only $200 motto type and likely with a small print figure. The laid paper used is also a thicker type than used on most other laid paper notes of the Act (see the $100 note, lot 8513). Very Fine. Light vertical fold and corner handling. Tightly cut on three sides, the top margin is wider. Toned uniformly with a pinhole near the upper right corner. Four back corner mounting remnants.
