Colony of New York. March 5, 1776.  One Sixth of A Dollar or One Shilling and Four Pence. No.23609....Colony of New York. March 5, 1776. One Sixth of A Dollar or One Shilling and Four Pence. No.23609. Signed by C. Ray and Wm. Heyer. Printed on thick stock. Ornate border cuts, New York Arms at the right. Back with small circular emblem at left with stork, motto NE IMPROVISO. Imprint 'Printed by Samuel Loudon, in the Year M, DCC, LXXVI'. A low denomination note in superb grade. Virtually a full bore Gem. Choice Crisp Uncirculated. There is only very petty corner handling at the upper left. Wide margined and centered on the face. The back is centered slightly to the left, but fully margined. Lightly penciled code (looks like Boyd) at the back bottom right corner and priced '1.50' at the bottom left margin. Worth several hundred times that $1.50!
