Printed on laid paper. A great motif and patriotic type. Fine or so. Heavily quarter folded, but each quadrant is very crisp and vivid. Partially split at the top and central juncture with old paper strip repairs on the back. Well margined at the top, but close or slightly in on the other three sides. The seal is bold with excellent line definition on the water. Despite the old repairs from the back, very attractive. Superior to many notes in technically higher grade.
The motifs chosen for the seals along with their Latin legends were drawn from classical mythology and then contemporary iconography. Some are both colorful and very apropos, such as the floating jugs with legend SI COLLIDIMUS FRANGIMUR (if we collide we will break), drawn from a sentiment that if the colonies did not work together they would surely fall together. Others are obvious in their import to patriots, such as the Liberty Cap motif with translated legend ''Freedom is more precious than gold'' and the rattlesnake (a famous image of America) motif with legend ''No one gets away with hurting me.''
