State of Virginia. May 1, 1780 Act. Four Dollars. No.4037. Handwritten date ''Oct. 9, 1781.'' Signed...State of Virginia. May 1, 1780 Act. Four Dollars. No.4037. Handwritten date ''Oct. 9, 1781.'' Signed by Craig and Stark; countersigned on the back by Fleming. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'CONFEDE/RATION'. Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. A scarce series of Guaranteed notes. There were 33,000 notes authorized of this denomination on the Act. A corner sheet note with very wide selvege at the right and bottom. Crisp Uncirculated. Very slight handling at the upper left corner. The top and left margins are also complete. Pencil code at back upper left wide margin.
