South Carolina. Lawful Money of April 10, 1778. Seven Shillings and Six Pence. Beehive Vignette....South Carolina. Lawful Money of April 10, 1778. Seven Shillings and Six Pence. Beehive Vignette. No.6927. Signed by Crouch and W.[illiam] Mathews. Printed on laid paper. Uniface, standard size, approximately 95mm by 60mm. Floral detail at the left face, ornate seal vignette at the lower right. The four notes from the ''other'' sheet type are much rarer than their counterparts. Obviously, remainder sheets of this type are very rare and the Ford-Boyd Collection has only one impaired example. A ''sleeper'' note that is needed to complete a denomination set on this issue. Fine to Very Fine. Toned overall. Honest wear only with multi-folds and back soiling. The margins trimmed closely, but full.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
