South Carolina. March 6, 1776 Resolve. Fifteen Pounds. Rattlesnake Attacking British Lion Vignette....South Carolina. March 6, 1776 Resolve. Fifteen Pounds. Rattlesnake Attacking British Lion Vignette. MAGNIS INTERDUM PARVA NOCENT. No.1994. Signed by Motte, P.[eter] Leger, Tho.[mas] Savage and Parker [vertically, to the right]. Printed on white laid paper. Standard size, approximately 120mm by 80mm. Uniface, elaborate border cuts. Vignette and motto at lower right.

A great patriotic American themed note. This type is printed on blue and white laid paper. There were 9,000 notes printed of this type from both paper types. We believe the blue notes are scarcer than the white notes. An attractive and bright white paper example without the severe paper edge problems seen on the issue. Very Fine. A few vertical folds seen from the back, but very vivid and well margined. Period pen endorsements on the back. Premium quality for the type.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
