Georgia. 1776. One Shilling and Six Pence. No.3108. Border variety (r). Signed by Bard, Telfair and O'Bryen. Printed on laid paper. At the lower right, written denomination 'One Shilling/And Six Pence' within rectangular cartouche with 'X' ornaments and triangles at base and apex. Choice Crisp About Uncirculated, and the look of Gem New. An exceptional Sterling issue note for any denomination. Exceptional paper quality. Crisp, bright and vivid with incredible embossing seen from the back at the lower right and ornaments. The margins are even and complete, but close in general. Not too many (if any!) could be finer. When a condition census is compiled, this will be high on it for the type in all likelihood. Throw away catalogue value and prior auction results and bid liberally. A superior note in all regards.
Edward Telfair was a member of the Continental Congress and was later a signer of the Articles of Confederation.
