1795 T-1, B 1-A. Rarity-3+. AU-58 (NGC). Bold lustre remains, especially at the peripheries, and decorates rich yellow gold surfaces with a pleasing and complete tone of copper and olive. Nicely detailed and very attractive, an excellent representative specimen for the assigned grade. Some light hairlines are present to no great harmful effect, scattered tiny marks, no significant adjustment marks. An abrasion above A in STATES is noted, diagonal flaw between STATES and OF, natural weakness in denticles below truncation of the bust seems to be caused by a minuscule mint clip that was obliterated at the time of striking. The color and originality of this coin is excellent, and we would rank it high among the AUs we have examined, despite the minor nicks that may be seen here or there with a glass. A coin that should be examined by finicky collectors who may find that it offers an ideal blend of good color, excellent detail, and pleasing visual appeal.
