1795 BB-27, B-5. Rarity-1. Flowing Hair, 3 Leaves. AU-55 (PCGS). A lustrous and appealing specimen of this elusive and popular type. Brilliant silver gray with a hint of coppery toning around the rims, undoubtedly imbued by years spent in a collector's album. Good lustre remains, especially in protected areas of the reverse that remain quite frosty. The adjustment marks are of minimal impact, consigned to the obverse peripheries and in the low spot beneath Liberty's ear, and do not interfere with any design elements, as so often found on this issue. Light hairlines are present on both sides, and a shallow abrasion is noted low on Liberty's neck. The detail is good for the grade and the design type is nicely showcased by the present coin. Many well-formed collections have never contained a Flowing Hair dollar combining the grade and eye appeal found here.
