1916 Standing Liberty. AU-58 (NGC). A lovely, lustrous example retaining much of its original lustre. About typical strike with some lightness at the centers. Within the assigned category the coin is very desirable. If you aspire to own an AU, consider this carefully.
Only 52,000 examples were struck of the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter. It is usual practice in numismatics that the first year of issue coins were saved by the public due to the novelty of the designs. However, this was not the case with the 1916, and today Mint State pieces are quite rare in comparison to the demand for them.
