Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. December 7, 1775. Twenty Eight Shillings. No.5084. Signed by Rice...Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. December 7, 1775. Twenty Eight Shillings. No.5084. Signed by Rice and Sewall. Revere Sword in Hand Note. Printed on thin paper stock. 77mm by 97mm. The variations on the paper stock types used for this issue of Sword in Hand notes is much less consistent than the paper used on the August 18, 1775 series. This paper is quite thin and similar to the Dutch watermarked paper used on higher denomination counterfeits in this series. Counterfeits are unlisted for this denomination and the plate diagnostics are proper for the series. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. Really the latter because the crease is nearer to a ''bend''. However, some soiling and mottled aging are noted. Well margined and superior in most respects. Boyd's pencil code, ''ryxx'', at the bottom left.

Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
