Surrounding the coin is a three-line concentric legend, IMPRESSION FROM A DIE MADE BY/ MATTHEW BOULTON AT SOLO 1804,/ AND USED TO CONVERT/ SILVER DOLLARS CAPTURED BY/ THE ENGLISH IN THE SPANISH WAR,/ THE IMAGE OF CAROLUS III BEING THUS DEFACED. This inscription really refers to the earlier 1804 5-Shilling Bank of England Token. The story of Silver capture properly belongs to the 18th century VIGO and LIMA coinages. Overall Extremely Fine.
