The so-called ''apostrophe'' variety, there being a reverse die break in the shape of an apostrophe that follows the last 'S' in STATES. The detail is that of a strong Choice Very Fine specimen, however there is a clean, ancient hole at 12:30. Evenly worn and toned in varying shades of pleasing medium gray. This example as well as the piece that immediately follows are both excellent candidates for some attentive repair as both offer plenty of definition, and would thus be excellent alternatives for the budget-minded buyer that prefers a coin with a greater degree of detail over a problem-free, more heavily worn specimen.
