1786 Landscape type. VERMONTENSIUM. R.8 (R-4). 109.9 grains. Fine. Surfaces range from smooth to mildly granular, with nearly all design elements visible or at least well-outlined, which is a rarity for this notoriously poorly made Vermont type. Date is full and on flan, plow is a bit indistinct, while mountains, trees and sun are all clearly visible. A pronounced planchet cutter lip is noted from 2:00 to 7:00 on obverse.
