Group of Small Woodcut Impressions of Large Size Currency, ca. 1860's. Each approximately 100 x 42mm on thin cardboard with mounting signs on backs. Includes the faces of the Legal Tender $2, $20, $50 and $100, and the National Bank Note $5, $20 and $50. Most curious as the $2 Legal and the $5 National are replicas of notes that have been raised to $50 denomination, to show what a raised note looks like. Possibly from some form of counterfeit detector. All trimmed into the ''design.'' A couple are missing small pieces of a corner or two, or have a fold. 7 pieces.
