Crowned cruciform double Ls, fleurs at angles, oval trifold Arms of France, Navarre and Béarn at center; Maltese cross at bottom: privy mark of engraver Pierre de Loyard. Overstruck on an Écu aux insignes (Gad.220), with goodly portions of the undertype visible. Gad.225. Extremely rare and one of the finest known. Toned Good Very Fine. (Est. $7,500-$8,500)
