Rhode Island. May 22, 1777. One Twenty-Fourth of a Dollar. No.7849. Signed by Welcome Arnold. Choice Very Fine with the appearance of a higher grade. Decent margins but for the top right, which cuts into the design a bit. The paper is slightly toned but not too seriously. A few tiny pinholes hardly detract. A very scarce issue with a total issuance of only $15,000 for the entire series.

This series was issued because of the shortage of small change in circulation. Most of this issue was heavily circulated so one of this quality is a welcome addition to any collection.

Lot # 2543
Hammer Price: $220.00
