L.6B, HT unlisted (R-9). New York Whigs Victorious. Feuchtwanger's metal. Unique and unrecorded until now. Very Fine. Types as above, light silver-gray covers both sides. The brittle character of this alloy is demonstrated by the obverse planchet defect which results in an arc of missing metal across the bottom suggesting a dropped lamination. A few tiny pecks can be found, light flaws at the base of the reverse. This exciting piece was completely unknown to Rulau, a discovery piece struck in an unexpected alloy. Rulau lists a silver piece but doubts its existence.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
