Log Cabin with smoking chimney, flag r. inscribed TIP, legend NINTH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. DeWitt reported that this very distinctive medal was produced by C. Wyllys Betts, Colonial Medal cataloguer and creator of several famous Colonial coin fantasies. The edge is somewhat rough as made, but the medal boasts a splendid silvery patina.
