Archduke Ferdinand, 1564-1595. Guldentaler, 1574. Hall, Mint Master Thomas Krump. Crowned half-length armored ruler r. with scepter. Deep scratches obliterate Circle-60 (60 Kreuzer) at 6:00. Rv. Date 1574 atop quartered shield of Hungary, Bohemia, Spain, Burgundy, Tyrol at center. Miller zu Aicholz Pl. 9:16, Fiala 2676, Morosini 468-79. Davenport unlisted. This distinctive type shows the date in the place normally occupied by the Archducal crown. Obverse shows ancient field scratches. Basic Very Fine. (Est. $150-$250)
