1814 O.105a (R-4). Single Leaf Below Wing. Choice Very Fine. This is the lapped die state which has only one leaf remaining in the upper pair below the eagle's wing. Original steel gray and very pleasing for the grade. The Mint was a bit too aggressive in filing off the reverse clash marks, and lapped off one of the leaves from the uppermost pair. This die state remains elusive and has been popular since its discovery.
