1787 Massachusetts Cent. Horned Eagle. Ryder 2b-A. About Uncirculated. Glossy, very dark chestnut brown surfaces are a trifle lighter in shade than that normally encountered on lightly circulated Massachusetts copper. Strike is bold and surfaces are essentially free of even the most minor of marks. Here is a very high quality, attractive specimen of this distinctive variety featuring pronounced die failure on the reverse, resembling a ''horn'' emanating from the eagle's head. NGC AU50.
