MAINE. Eastern Bank. $1.00. Bangor. October 1, 1859. Full red face tint lathe and white outlined protector....MAINE. Eastern Bank. $1.00. Bangor. October 1, 1859. Full red face tint lathe and white outlined protector. Green security back with large '1' intersecting with outlined white 'ONE'. Supported Maine Arms at the top center, Liberty at lower left and seated Arts at lower right. The serial number is engraved '2356', quite unusual and something we have seen only a few times on New England notes. ME-60 G16d. A rare note on a bank where mostly counterfeit $5.00 notes are seen. This fully issued note has great color and is solid grade. Choice Fine with a small back hinge at the center.
