A superb vignette with a face creating a strong wind across the waves, legend VI CONCINATE (Driven by force). The back has a thematic rendition also with a blazing sun over ships on a calm sea, legend CESSANTE VENTO CONQUIESCEMUS (When the storm dies down we will rest). Printed on Marbled Edged Paper, obtained by Benjamin Franklin for use by the Continental Congress. The great news is that the color marbled border is wide and richly textured. The bad news is the note has a vertical split (often the case on the thick paper used) that was rejoined on both sides with scotch tape that has penetrated the paper surface. There is also a smaller scotch tape repair at the right end of the back. However, this note is a very suitable filler for a note that in Fine or better is close to $3,000 or more.
