Colonel William Washington Medal, 1789. Copper bronzed, 46.2mm. By Pierre Simon Duvivier. Type MI-8. About Uncirculated. Obv. Winged Victory guides American Cavalry charge. Rev. 7-Line Latin tribute to victory of Cowpens, Jan. 17, 1781. Die rust on obverse below MO WA and rust linking rim and wreath at 1:00 identify original dies. Struck by Paris Mint, Pointing Hand-CUIVRE edge mark of 1845-1860.
