Washington Bicentennial Commission Award Medal, 1932. Bronze, 75.4mm. By Laura Gardin Fraser. Baker 900A, Hansen 1. Uncirculated. Obv. Half-length uniformed bust l., family Arms and dates below. Rev. Armored Liberty holds torch and sword. This is the National medal for the Birth Bicentennial, showing modern yellow bronze patina. In fitted plush-lined cardboard case with inner lid imprinted MEDAL OF AWARD/ UNITED STATES/ GEORGE WASHINGTON/ BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION, WASHINGTON D.C.

Rulau-Fuld state that these scarce medals were used as awards for National oratorical, essay and declamatory contests. This large size Bronze was not sold to the public.
