ITALY. XVII Olympiad Rome, 1960 Medal Set. .917 Gold. An eleven-piece set. One medal is 50mm, 70 grams. The others are 30mm, weighing 17.5 grams each (10). 245 grams total, 7.22 Troy ounces pure gold in the set. By Aurelio Mistruzzi, Giuseppe Romagnoli, Pietro Giampaoli, R. Signorini. Brilliant Proof. The largest depicts the Olympic torch-bearer standing between an archway and the Parthenon. The 30mm Medals show ancient athletes and Olympic events from javelin and the discus throw to chariot racing and the high jump. In a fitted case with Certificate of Authenticity from Numismatica Iberica S.A. 11 pieces. (Est. $2,700-$3,000)
