A hand-written card in the case states that the medal was given to Peter Schneider & Co., 91 Maiden Lane, N.Y. Exposition at Grand Central Palace - New York City for Superior Cameos and Exquisitely Carved Ivory. Medal design precluded engraving recipients' names on either side.
