Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. Red ''Int. pd One Year'' stamping on face. One of the rarest issues on the 1780 Guaranteed Acts. There were only 1,413 notes authorized each from the eight denominations used.
Any note from this issue is a key note and this is the first genuine bill from the Act we have catalogued. The series was missing completely from many important Colonial American paper currency sales such as Affleck-Ball in 1975 and the James DuPont Sale by Smythe in 1993. This selection of seven notes from the Act is a tremendous opportunity to obtain an example for a type set of Guaranteed notes. It might be many years or decades for such an offering might be duplicated, if ever.
A very pleasing note, solid still with honest wear. Unlike Guaranteed notes on several of the other states, these appear to have circulated and were well regarded commercially. Very Good. Quarter folded heavily and multifolds, too numerous to count making the note ''soft.'' Short tear from the bottom center and large pinhole at the center. Moderate face soiling and rather heavy on the back. The Yates, Jr. signature is still vivid. All there and more. The note will represent a tremendous value for the enlightened opportunist.
