State of Virginia. May 1, 1780 Act. Three Dollars. Unnumbered. Handwritten date ''Oct. 9, 1781.'' Signed by [Jonathan] Boush and John Lyne; countersigned on the back by F. Webb. Printed on thin paper, watermarked 'CONFEDE/RATION'. Standard size, designs and imprint as used on Maryland and other State issued ''Guaranteed'' notes. A scarce series of Guaranteed notes. There were 33,000 notes authorized of this denomination on the Act. This is listed a remainder note in Newman. Signed, dated, but not numbered. This superb note borders on exceptional. Crisp, bold, and vivid. Choice to Gem Crisp Uncirculated. Many will call it the latter. Perfect paper quality and complete margins on all sides, the top and right being the widest. The back is perfectly centered with bold color. This note represents the series perfectly and of course is a popular Three Dollar bill, a popular topic in all American series.
Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate.
