Choice About Uncirculated, on the very cusp of full Mint State. Here is an extraordinary early San Francisco coin whose deep red-gold lustre seems to heighten its reliefs to a level suggesting the Pioneer issues of this great center of the Gold Rush a couple of years earlier. A few marks are noted, but these are decidedly trivial compared to this coin's other remarkable qualities.
912 1861 AU $575.00

Strong About Uncirculated. Faint recutting is seen on the right side of the date. Lustre halos the reliefs, light yellow-gold shows very light wear with some inconspicuous hairlines.
913 1871 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $4,900.00
1871 Brilliant Uncirculated, on the cusp of fully Choice. This coin displays dramatic prooflike lustre...
- on the cusp of fully Choice. This coin displays dramatic prooflike lustre with exceptional reflectivity. All reliefs and devices are crisply defined, standing out boldly from the gleaming background. A glass reveals scattered hairlines and some small surface marks, fewer than usually seen on these massive Gold coins. Here is an attention-seizing example of the early dates of the Motto...  more
914 1871'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $3,200.00
1871'S' Brilliant Uncirculated. Frosted reliefs stand out from reflective but lightly frosty fields...
Frosted reliefs stand out from reflective but lightly frosty fields for an interesting two-tone effect. A few bagmarks are noted in the fields, but in terms of sheer appeal this is an extraordinary example of a date Akers calls ''decidedly rare'' in full Mint State. A premium quality coin that is sure to attract spirited bidding. PCGS MS60.
915 1874'CC' AU $3,750.00
1874'CC' About Uncirculated, on the threshold of fully Choice. Richly glowing canary-yellow lustre...
About Uncirculated, on the threshold of fully Choice. Richly glowing canary-yellow lustre is very full on both sides. All reliefs are fully defined and evidence of circulation must be sought with a glass. In terms of overall visual appeal, this coin is in a class of its own, scarcely to be distinguished from Mint State.
916 1875 EF $400.00

Extremely Fine. Interesting red-gold lustre accentuates the bold reliefs, a shallow old hairline scratch crosses the upper obverse through 'L' of LIBERTY.
917 1875'CC' CH AU $1,500.00
1875'CC' Choice About Uncirculated and close to full Mint State. Bright lustre concentrates around...
Choice About Uncirculated and close to full Mint State. Bright lustre concentrates around the sharp reliefs. Actual circulation is light but the fields do bear a scattering of bagmarks and two tiny stains at stars 1, 6 and 7.
918 1876'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $650.00

Wonderfully robust lemon-yellow lustre saturates both sides of this especially delightful, well-struck example.
919 1876'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $630.00

Another. Pleasing detail and lustrous surfaces are indeed apparent. A few obverse scuffs keep this coin from a higher status. NGC MS60.
920 1890'CC' CH AU $1,700.00
1890'CC' Choice About Uncirculated. Boldly reflective yellow lustre fills the lightly marked fields,...
Choice About Uncirculated. Boldly reflective yellow lustre fills the lightly marked fields, some red-gold appears on the highest points of the design.
921 1896'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $500.00

- on the threshold of fully Choice. Deep red-gold lustre is substantial on both sides of this sharply struck piece. A flurry of tiny bag marks can be seen on the obverse. PCGS MS62.
922 1901'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $625.00

An exceptional strike joins full and relatively mark-free surfaces to create remarkably high quality. Here is a San Francisco date that is highly elusive in Choice or better.
923 1901'S' EF to AU $400.00

Another. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. Bold detail is undeterred by light circulation. Scrutiny with a glass will discover some very faint obverse field lines.
924 1904 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $3,750.00
1904 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Incredibly deep, rich yellow-gold lustre saturates this example of...
Incredibly deep, rich yellow-gold lustre saturates this example of a popular Liberty date. Wonderfully smooth fields complement microscopically exact detail on the head, eagle's feathers, stars and lettering. While not a rare date, 1904 in full Gem is the target for advanced date and type collectors and worthy of a premium bid. NGC MS65.
925 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $490.00

- virtually in the Choice category. Another. Delightful light yellow-gold lustre is free of seriously distracting marks. NGC MS62.
926 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $500.00

- close to Choice. A third. Full cartwheel lustre, a few minor marks away from a higher grade. NGC MS62.
927 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $480.00

- on the cusp of Choice. A fourth example boasting deep lustrous gleam with light bagmarks. NGC MS62.
928 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $475.00

- nearly Choice. A fifth example providing boldest lustrous beauty with a few scattered bagmarks. NGC MS62.
929 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $475.00

- virtually Choice. A sixth deeply lustrous coin showing some characteristic obverse bagging. NGC MS62.
930 1904 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $475.00

- or finer. A seventh. A true premium quality coin distinguished by richly reflective deep-yellow fields and delightfully mark-free reliefs. PCGS MS61.
931 1904'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $480.00

- virtually fully Choice. Bright yellow-gold cartwheel lustre offers scattered obverse marks. NGC MS62.
932 1904'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $500.00

- near fully Choice. Another. Assertive yellow-gold surfaces show a couple of obverse bag abrasions. NGC MS62.
933 1904'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $480.00

- on the edge of fully Choice. A third with assertive yellow-gold surfaces and an obverse reeding mark before the nose. NGC MS62.
934 1904'S' AU $400.00

A fourth. About Uncirculated or better with respect to wear. There is some evidence of a very light cleaning on either side.
935 1906'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,800.00
1906'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated with claims to Gem. Here is a light gold example of the first...
- with claims to Gem. Here is a light gold example of the first Denver date, delightfully free of heavy marks and an outstanding example of early Denver coinage.
936 1906'D' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $500.00

- very close to the rank of Choice. Another. Deep red-gold lustre offers pleasing cartwheel reflectivity on this example of the first Denver date. The essentially mark-free reverse is wholly Choice for powerful additional appeal. PCGS MS62.
937 1907 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $480.00

- virtually Choice. A pleasing example with almost orange-gold lustre and a complement of obverse bagmarks. NGC MS62.
