Brilliant Uncirculated BU $10,000.00 - and nearly worthy of a Choice distinction. Closed '9' in the date with the knob of the '9' essentially touching the loop above. Bright fields and devices enjoy a full measure of icy mint frost. The obverse exhibits bold definition on Liberty's head and shield, as well as some light rim crumbling between 12:00 and 1:00. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,100.00 A pleasing bright silver coin with a good deal of frosty lustre. The coin is virtually free of contact marks but there are some light hairlines that prevent a higher designation. A well struck example of this interesting variety. 2764 1853 Arrows and Rays. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,700.00 Appealing rose-gold and blue toning on the obverse, the reverse mostly gold and russet. A well struck coin that has handsome eye appeal. 2765 1854'O' Arrows. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $950.00 Attractive multicolor obverse toning, the reverse mostly satiny. Well struck. The date, stars and part of the obverse design and are lightly doubled as is sometimes seen with this date. 2766 1860 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,600.00 Marvelous steel-blue toning gives rich color to the deep-mirror fields and lightly frosted reliefs of the exquisite example of a Proof mintage of 1,000 pieces. 2767 1861 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $600.00 Well struck with abundant mint frost. Lightly toned with just a few light marks found that do not detract much. A die crack through the bottom of the date. 2768 1869 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,600.00 - with claims to a Gem distinction. The reverse is fully Gem. Watery field reflectivity is complemented by delicately frosted legends and design features. A wonderfully well balanced blush of pale rose-mauve toning bathes either side of this highly satisfying specimen. Just 600 Proofs were coined of this date. 2769 1870 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,500.00 - perhaps a bit better. An even shade of interior russet toning is accompanied by somewhat deeper areas of mauve situated within the protected portions of the peripheral obverse field. The reverse is toned a slightly paler russet-gold. Fully mirrored and assertive, this specimen is far nicer than typically seen. One of a Proof mintage of 1,000 pieces. 2770 1873 No Arrows. Closed 3. Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $3,000.00 Deepest mirror brilliance is imbued with delightfully even pearl and blue toning showing the faintest flavor of clear orange-gold for the most glorious visual quality and appeal. One of 600 Proofs struck of the Without Arrows Type in this busy year, and a coin that would be hard to duplicate for sheer beauty. 2771 1874 Arrows. Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,000.00 Gleaming liquid-glass fields accentuate the finely frosted, vividly detailed devices. One of only 700 Proofs struck, this glittering example shows the brief With Arrows coinage at its finest and is sure to become a key component of some high quality Type or date collection. 2772 1874 Arrows. Brilliant Proof BR PF $1,100.00 - close to fully Choice. Stark silver-white devices float on silver mirror fields edged by narrow bands of russet and blue. NGC has certified only 18 pieces in this grade. An important coin as one of the few Proofs struck of the With Arrows type. NGC PF62. 2773 1877 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,500.00 - on the cusp of fully Gem. Gleaming liquid-glass fields are edged in delicate peripheral gold, bold devices are razor-sharp and frosty white for bold contrast. With only 510 struck, this is the lowest post-Civil War Proof mintage and a desirable coin from any standpoint. 2774 1880 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $2,400.00 - and nearly Superb. A razor sharp strike has imparted even the smallest of details and a wire rim. Pearl silver color adds to the allure. The devices are wonderfully frosty giving a somewhat prooflike appearance. A tiny carbon spot is noted at star 5 but otherwise the coin is virtually flawless. A truly stellar coin that is sure to please the most selective of collectors. 2775 1881 Type I Reverse. Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,600.00 Liquid-glass fields and pleasing frosty devices build dramatic reflective beauty. Both sides are edged in colorful tobacco-gold for added contrast. One of 975 struck and surely one of the finest available today. The late Walter Breen stated that the Type I Reverse of this date is rare. 2776 1884 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $2,600.00 Gorgeous multicolor iridescent rose, sea-green and pearl toning covers delightfully preserved surfaces creating the highest quality eye appeal that can be easily imagined. One of 875 Proofs struck of a highly desirable Liberty Seated date. 2777 1884 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,500.00 Glittering stark silver-white fields and devices present virtually flawless beauty. This exceptional gleaming coin is nearly fully Gem, an exceptionally high quality example among the small surviving population of this late-date Proof issue. 2778 1885 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,600.00 Nearly pristine devices radiate a bright frosty silver glow, contrasting with iridescent silver fields bordered in glittering blue and russet at the precisely struck rims. One of 930 Proofs struck of this desirable date. 2779 1885 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,300.00 - and enjoying lovely glassy-mirrored fields. Frosted, delicately toned central obverse devices are encircled by wispy olive-russet at the periphery. The reverse offers somewhat deeper olive and russet-golden toning embellished by subtle iridescent highlights. A rather paltry 930 Proofs and 5,200 circulation strikes were produced of this scarce date. 2780 1886 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,100.00 Here is an unusually desirable specimen highlighted by iridescent blue, lilac and light gold toning of exquisite beauty. 2781 1889 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $1,100.00 One of 886 Proofs struck. Glittering liquid-glass fields are clothed in the most delicate green and pale gold toning which join to give this coin its exceptional loveliness and almost irresistible beauty. PCGS PR63. 2782 1891 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,500.00 One of 600 Proofs struck of the final year of the long-lived Liberty Seated series. Gorgeous iridescent blue, deep rose and orange gold at the peripheries amplify the glittering appeal of this magnificent Gem of the final Liberty Seated date.
