It is possible that this is the rarer J.1626 with the small amount of gold included in the planchet, but unless exacting specific gravity analysis is performed, there is no way to ascertain which planchet was used. The obverse was designed by William Barber and shows Liberty facing left, with the date below, 13 stars around and E PLURIBUS UNUM at the top....  more
