Crowned cypher above ethnic and hallmarks, engraved shoulders, leather backing. London date stamps for 1801-02. Approximately 11x10cm. The regiment was renamed as on the gorget in 1776. Some of its troops saw service against France in the Low Countries 1792-4 and others in Haiti 1794-7 where losses due to disease were severe. It has been enfolded into the 14th/20th King's Hussars. |
